Heroes among us...

A Pole by degree, an Uzbek by soul and a Ukrainian for life - is the precise definition of an outstanding person who had an enormous impact on my life. Tetiana Gavrilenko, who used to be my roommate and continues to be my soulmate, is the most unpredictable, strong-willed and broad-minded human-being I have ever been lucky to get acquainted with on my first year at University.

Tanya not only helped me survive through my first miserable years of living abroad, but also taught me how to be a better person. Taking her confusing background into consideration, it was no wonder for me why she gave those hospitable and generous vibes to people of all cultures and nations. As of today, I find it hard to believe there's a friend of Tanya’s who has never tasted at least one of her signature dishes as "mashkachari","samsa" or "plov".

Whenever I was exhausted overcoming everyday obstacles, I would remember that slender-built woman with fine-featured face and sparkling eyes who everlastingly fought for making the world a better place. It was my beloved friend and powerful woman I might say, who taught me to be thick-skinned and courageous enough to share my opinions publicly, as well as to stick to my beliefs no matter how badly others would want my lips to be sealed. How can I not admire that beautiful woman, who due to her brilliant mind and ambitiousness, set up a social-media campaign that struggles with injustice and defeats terroristic regimes all over the world.

Frankly speaking, Tanya is a hero of our generation and a person with a soul of an angel who makes me, among others, believe that the meaning of the word “world” is supposed to be about purity and selflessness than it is about cruelty and egoism. When it comes to saving lives, Tetiana never hesitates to be there for a patient she barely knows making him lunches and God knows how many animals we would have lost to starvation, if Tanya hadn’t helped homeless creatures to find their shelters.

To cut the long story short, Tetiana Gavrilenko is a role model for everyone, who wants to save the last shreds of humanity and turn the Earth into the peaceful place to live. As for others, I can tell with confidence the name of hers someday will be well-known across continents and even beyond them. As for us, despite our paths cannot go the same direction right now, our souls will be connected till the death do us apart.
